LEKAROZ 2013

2º ESO

Sunday, 29th September 2013

We left Calahorra at 16:30 on the bus and we arrived to Lekaroz at 18:30. The coordinator of the linguistic course welcomed us and explained the rules of the youth hostel. Then we went into our rooms and made our beds and unpacked our luggage.

We had dinner at 20:30. It was meat with potatoes and sauce.

After dinner, we played some games to meet the students from the other school. They were from Madrid.

We went to the rooms at 22:30 but we had time to be awake until midnight. Then lights went out and we were supposed to go to sleep.

Salimos de Calahorra a las 4 y media de la tarde y llegamos a Lekaroz a las seis y media. El coordinador de la inmersión lingüística nos dio la bienvenida y nos explicó las reglas del hostal. Luego fuimos a las habitaciones e hicimos las camas y deshicimos las maletas.

Cenamos carne en salsa con patatas a las ocho y media.

Después de cenar, tuvimos algunos juegos para conocer a los alumnos del otro instituto que estaba en la inmersión. Eran de Madrid.

Nos fuimos a las habitaciones a las diez y media de la noche y tuvimos tiempo libre hasta las doce. Luego se apagaban las luces y se suponía que teníamos que dormir

Monday, 30th September 2013

On Monday, we got up at 8:00, we got dressed and we had breakfast at 8:30. Then, everyday, we had class about the environmental topic of the day (recycling, global warming, etc). After the first lesson of the morning, we played a game on the same topic. At midday, we had lunch and some free time to talk or play.

In the afternoon, we did sports. And every evening, we had to carry out the activity of our project about the environment. It was at 18:30 and we did this with our own teachers, Noemí and María.

Later, we had time to have a shower and dinner was at 20:30 every evening. After dinner there was a night activity and then we went to bed.

El lunes, nos despertamos a las ocho, nos vestimos y desayunamos a las 8:30. Luego, cada mañana teníamos clase sobre el tema medioambiental de cada día. Después de la clase jugábamos a algo sobre el mismo tema. A mediodía comíamos y teníamos tiempo libre para charlar o jugar.

Por la tarde jugamos a diferentes deportes. Y sobre las seis de la tarde, todos los días, teníamos que hacer la actividad de nuestro propio proyecto con nuestras profesoras, Noemí y María.

Más tarde teníamos tiempo de ducharnos y las ocho y media era la cena. Después de la cena había una actividad nocturna cada día y luego a dormir.

 Tuesday, 1st October 2013

In the morning, we got up at eight o’clock. When we got dressed we went downstairs to have breakfast. Then we had the usual class about the environment. Then we had a snack and another activity about recycling. We had to separate rubbish into different containers but it was a race among teams. Finally each team had to build something with the rubbish to recycle it. At night we had a game. We had to look for the native monitors who were hiding in the youth hostel. When we found one, they made us a question and if we guessed the answer, they gave us a card. The team that first got all the cards was the winner of the game. We had a great time.

Por la mañana nos levantamos a las ocho y media. Nos vestimos y bajamos a desayunar. Luego tuvimos clase sobre el medioambiente como siempre. Almorzamos y tenemos otra actividad sobre reciclaje. Había mucha basura en el suelo del campo de fútbol y había que separarla en diferentes contenedores. Luego cada equipo tenía que construir algo con la basura.

Por la noche hubo otro juego en el que por equipos había que buscar a los monitores nativos y ellos te hacían una pregunta y si la acertabas pues te daban una tarjeta. El equipo que conseguía las tarjetas primero era el ganador. Nos lo pasamos genial.

Wednesday, 2nd October 2013

We got up at 8:00 in the morning.  We had breakfast and we had the English lesson until 11:00. Then we had a snack which was fruit as every morning. Then we played some football or basketball. After all this, we did some activities outdoors, each of us in a team. We played games and sports.

Before lunch, we had half an hour of free time and then we had lunch and some more free time. When we had free time we liked talking to the students of the other school.

In the afternoon, we had a long walk in the countryside and the mountains. We arrived in Elizondo and we had time to buy some biscuits and sweets. We went back to Lekaroz, we had a shower and we had dinner. Later we had some night activities, it was the scary night and the native monitors were dressed up in scary costumes and we were walking outside and they appeared and scared us.

Then it was bed time and we were chatting for one hour and went to sleep.

Nos levantamos a las 8. Desayunamos y luego tuvimos la clase de Inglés hasta las 11. Luego almorzamos fruta como de costumbre. Después jugamos un poco al fútbol o baloncesto. Después hicimos algunas actividades fuera, cada uno en su equipo.

Antes de la comida tuvimos media hora de tiempo libre, luego la comida y más tiempo libre. En este tiempo aprovechamos para hablar con los del otro instituto de Madrid.

Por la tarde, tuvimos una marcha por el campo y la montaña. Llegamos andando a Elizondo y pudimos comprar algunas galletas y chuches. Volvimos a Lekaroz, nos duchamos y a cenar. Por la noche, la actividad fue la noche de miedo. Los monitores se habían disfrazado de personajes de terror y teníamos que buscarlos y nos asustaban.

Thursday, 3rd October 2013

We woke up at 8 o’clock and we had breakfast. We had biscuits, milk, cereals and orange juice. At 9 o’clock we had some lessons about environmental issues until 11 o’clock. At this time we had some fruit for snack. Then we had an activity called ‘the incredible science museum’. After lunch we had some free time. In the afternoon, we had an activity to learn how to make soap and how to recycle cans into candle crafts. Then we worked on the project of our teachers. We filmed some legends about our region, La Rioja. We dressed up in old costumes and we performed the characters of the legends. It was very funny. We had a laugh. Later we had a shower and dinner. After dinner, we watched a film. Finally we went to bed.

Nos levantamos a las 8 y desayunamos. Desayunamos galletas, leche, cereales y zumo de naranja. A las 9 tuvimos clases teóricas sobre el medioambiente hasta las 11. A esta hora almorzamos fruta. Luego tuvimos una actividad llamada ‘el increíble museo de la ciencia’. Después de comer algo de tiempo libre. Por la tarde hicimos un taller sobre cómo hacer jabón y como reciclar latas para hacer candeleros. Después trabajamos en el proyecto de nuestras profesoras. Tuvimos que representar un teatro sobre diversas leyendas de nuestra región. Fue muy divertido.  Nos reímos. Luego era hora de la ducha y la cena. Después de la cena, vimos una película y a la cama.

Friday, 4th October 2013

Like every day, we got up at 8 o’clock and got ready for breakfast. We started lessons at 9 until 11 o’clock. As it was the last day, we played games in the lessons.

Later we went down to have a snack and we played more games until lunch time. We had lunch at one o’clock and then we had free time.

In the afternoon’s workshop we made vanilla cakes. We read the recipe and we had to complete it. Then we mixed all the ingredients and when we finished we put the cakes in the oven and we went to have the Olympic Games. We were in four groups: the wolves, the tigers, the pandas and the lynxes. There were three games: one with a spoon and an egg, then with a glass of water on the head and jumping inside some bags. The wolves won the game.

We finished at 8 and went for the showers. We had dinner and a great disco. We danced a lot and we had a lot of fun. We ate our vanilla cakes and it was time to sleep because the next day we had to pack our suitcases and go back home.

Como cada día, nos levantamos a las ocho y nos preparamos para el desayuno. Empezamos las clases a las nueve hasta las once. Como era el último día, jugamos a diferentes juegos.

Más tarde fuimos a almorzar and jugamos más hasta la hora de la comida. Comimos a la una y luego tuvimos tiempo libre.

En los talleres de la tarde hicimos pasteles de vainilla. Leímos la receta and la completamos. Luego mezclamos los ingredientes y cuando terminamos pusimos los pasteles en el horno and fuimos a hacer los Juegos Olímpicos. Estábamos en cuatro grupos: lobos, tigres, pandas y linces. Jugamos a tres juegos: uno con una cuchara y un huevo, otro llevando un vaso de agua encima de la cabeza y otro saltando dentro de sacos. Los lobos ganaron el juego.

Terminamos a las ocho y nos duchamos. Cenamos y a la discoteca. Bailamos mucho y nos los pasamos genial. Nos comimos nuestros pasteles de vainilla y ya era hora de dormir porque al día siguiente teníamos que hacer las maletas y volver a casa.

This day, we woke up very early. We got dressed and we packed our suitcases. We went to have breakfast and later we were playing table tennis and football with the students from Madrid. We carried our luggage to the entrance and the monitors called us to see the pictures of the week. When we finished, we said good bye to our new friends and one hour later we were on the bus on the way back to Calahorra. Suddenly we had a problem, one girl had forgotten her medicines in the shelter and we had to return to get them. When we arrived in Calahorra, our parents were waiting for us and our trip was finished

Ese día, nos despertamos pronto. Nos vestimos e hicimos las maletas. Fuimos a desayunar y más tarde jugamos al fútbol y al ping-pong con los alumnos de Madrid. Bajamos las maletas a la entrada y los monitores nos llamaron para ver las fotos de la semana. Cuando terminamos, dijimos adiós a nuestros nuevos amigos y una hora más tarde estábamos en el autobús de vuelta a Calahorra. De repente, tuvimos un problema porque una chica había olvidado sus medicinas en el albergue así que dimos la vuelta para recogerlas. Cuando llegamos a Calahorra, nuestros padres estaban esperándonos y nuestro viaje había terminado.

VALLEDEPORTE: DEPORTE EN EL VALLE

El Domingo 27 de Octubre, nuestros alumnos  acudieron al partido de los equipos de balonmano femenino de división de plata, Sporting Rioja vs Palencia, disputado en el pabellón polideportìvo de la Universidad de La Rioja. Un total de 27 chicos y chicas, de los equipos de balonmano de Valledeporte disfrutaron de la expedición. Salieron de la estación de autobuses de Calahorra a las 8,45 y regresaron a las 17,15. El ambiente fue estupendo y lo pasaron genial

El próximo sábado, 9 de noviembre, nuestro centro participará en los Juegos Deportivos de La Rioja Balonmano juvenil masculino: Los Pumas del valle contra Naturhouse La Rioja en el Pabellón Europa de Calahorra a las 10:00  y a las 11:30 el equipo Balonmano Valle femenino contra el Knet Calasancio también en el Pabellón Europa.

TUESDAY 24^TH: ICKNIELD COMMUNITY COLLEGE

On Tuesday, we woke up at 6:45 a.m. , we had a shower and we had breakfast with all the exchange partner’s family at the kitchen. At 8a.m. we took the bus to go to high school, we started at 8:30 a.m. When we arrived we met Spanish people and the teachers gave us a timetable which they had prepared for us.

The two first hours we were in the art’s class doing frames for photos decorating them with topics and landmarks of England with the help of the art teacher; it was really funny , since we used different ways of painting., then we had 20 minutes of break time in which we ate a snack in the cafeteria. At third hour we had geography class with a teacher who had been living in Spain for some years, we were talking about the most known tourist destinations and about the differences between Spain and England. At fourth hour we had drama class in which we were playing games to improve our groupal coordination. The game consisted in divide the class in two groups and each team must hold hands making a chain, everybody must close their eyes except the firsts ones.  The teacher threw a coin and if it was a face the two first ones would press the partner’s hand. When one participant received a pres from one of their partners he/she must pass the pres to the next one. When the last partner of the chain received it he/ she must hit a drum. Each time the game was more complicated. This class was the only one in which we were with English people. After these two hours arrived the lunch time, where went to the principal dinning room and they bought their lunch at the cafeteria.

At fifth hour we had to go to the library to make a quiz about Oxford site. At sixth hour we went to talk Spanish in a class with children although they only had been studying Spanish for a week they knew a lot of things. When we finished this class we came back home by bus.

In the afternoon most of the exchange partners met at the RAF, that it is a military area in which live soldiers from the air forces. There we played different sports and at 7a.m. we had dinner with our respective houses, after that we returned with the other.

That night, boys went home earlier and girls were playing “bottle”. It was very funny because each girl had a dare with a boy; the Spanish girls with English boy and vice versa .There were proves of a lot of types, but all were embarrassment. At eleven o’clock we returned home and sometimes we called our Spanish family keeping in mind that in Spain is one hour more than in England, and then we went to bed because we had to get up early.

El martes nos levantamos a las 6:45, nos duchamos y desayunamos en la cocina con toda la familia. A las 8 cogíamos el autobús para ir a la escuela, entrábamos a las 8.30.

Al llegar a la escuela, nos reunimos todos los españoles y nos dieron un horario que habían preparado para nosotros.

Las dos primeras horas estuvimos en la clase de arte haciendo unos marcos de fotos decorándolos con los principales lugares ingleses con la ayuda de la profesora de plástica ;fue muy divertido ,ya que utilizamos diferentes técnicas de dibujos. Después tuvimos un pequeño recreo de 20 minutos en el que tomamos un pequeño snack de la cantina. A tercera hora tuvimos clase de geografía  con un profesor que había estado viviendo en España durante varios años ,estuvimos hablando sobre los destinos turísticos más conocidos y sobre las diferencias que más nos habían llamado la atención entre España e Inglaterra .A cuarta hora tuvimos clase de drama en la cual estuvimos realizando juegos para mejorar nuestra coordinación en equipo. El juego consistía en dividir la clase en dos equipos y cada equipo debía hacer un cadena uniendo las manos ,todos tenían que cerrar los ojos excepto el primero de cada fila .El profesor lanzaba una moneda y los dos primeros si era cara tenían que apretar la mano de su compañero .Cuando uno de los participantes recibía un apretón de manos de un compañero suyo debía pasar el apretón al siguiente y cuando el ultimo de la fila lo recibía  tenia que tocar un tambor y cada vez  el juego era más difícil .Esta clase fue en la única que estuvimos con ingleses .Tras estas dos horas tocaba la hora de comer , donde los estudiante iban al comedor principal y compraban su comida en la cantina .

A quinta hora, tuvimos que ir a la biblioteca y hacer una encuesta sobre Oxford. Y a sexta hora, fuimos a hablar español a una clase con niños que aunque solo habían estado estudiando español una semana, ellos sabían muchas cosas. Cuando acabamos esta clase regresamos a casa en autobús.

Por la tarde quedamos la mayoría de los compañeros y los corresponsales del intercambio en la RAF, que es un área militar en el que viven soldados de las fuerzas aéreas. Allí practicábamos diferentes deportes y a las 7 cenábamos en nuestras respectivas casas y luego regresábamos con todos.

Esa noche los chicos se fueron pronto y las chicas nos quedamos jugando a la botella. Fue muy divertido ya que a cada chica le toco hacer una prueba con un chico al día siguiente; las españolas con los ingleses y al revés. Había pruebas de todo tipo, pero en todas se pasaba mucha vergüenza. A las 11 de la noche volvíamos a casa y llamábamos a nuestra familia teniendo en cuenta que en España era una hora más y luego nos íbamos a dormir porque al día siguiente teníamos que madrugar.

WEDNESDAY 25^TH: OXFORD

 We woke up at seven o´clock in the morning. We met at the school at 8.30 am where we took a bus to go to Oxford city. It was near Watlington, so the journey was short. When we arrived we visited different places. One of them was Christ Church College which is one of the largest colleges in Oxford. We visited a cathedral that was inside of the college. We also got inside the Harry´s Potter dining room.

After that, we went shopping. We could go to the shops, buy things for our families, eat, talk … etc .Then we took the bus that will take us back to the school where we met with our corresponding partners to go home .

Nos levantamos a las siete de la mañana .A las ocho y media nos reunimos en el colegio, donde cogimos un autobús para ir a la ciudad de Oxford. Estaba cerca de Watlington, así que el viaje fue corto. Cuando llegamos visitamos diferentes lugares. Uno de ellos fue Christ Church College  que es uno de las universidades más grandes en Oxford. Visitamos una catedral que estaba dentro de la facultad. Y también logramos entrar al comedor de Harry Potter.

Después  de eso fuimos  de compras. Pudimos ir a las tiendas, comprar cosas para nuestras familias , comer , hablar … Luego cogimos otro autobús que nos llevaría de vuelta al colegio donde nos encontramos con nuestros correspondientes compañeros para ir a casa 

THURSDAY 26^TH: ICKNIELD COMMUNITY COLLEGE

On Thursday morning, we stayed on Icknield Community College. During two hours we were finishing the photo frames that we had started on Tuesday. Later we did a presentation about the things that we had done during that week. We had to show it in front of the Spanish class. It was really fun!! The English teachers gave to our partners two hours of free time to spend them with us before we left.

At 1.15 pm we said goodbye to everyone with not wanting to return to Spain because we were having such a good timeJ. Later, we took a bus to take us to London Airport where we took the plane back to Spain.

El jueves por la mañana permanecimos en Icknield Community College. Durante dos horas estuvimos terminando unos marcos de fotos que habíamos empezado el martes. Después nosotros hicimos una presentación sobre las cosas que habíamos hecho durante esa semana. La tuvimos que presentar delante de la clase de español. ¡Fue muy divertido! Los profesores ingleses les dieron a nuestros compañeros dos horas de tiempo libre para que las pasaran con nosotros antes de que nos fuéramos.

A la 1.15 de la tarde nos despedimos de todos sin ganas de volver a España porque nos los estábamos pasando muy bien J Después, cogimos un autobús que nos llevaría al aeropuerto de Londres donde cogeríamos el avión.

MONDAY 23^RD: TRIP TO LONDON

After we had spent the weekend with ours British families, on Monday we traveled to London with our correspondents. At nine in the morning all we were already prepared to take the bus that took us to London. After more or less two hours trip we arrived to the city and the first visit which we did was to the of Natural History Museum, there, teachers let us free time to see the Museum, to take photos and to buy at the store. Then we walked to downtown to take the tourist bus, this bus took us through the Centre of London to see and enjoy all the important monuments of the city. Nearly in two an half hours tour and, while we had lunch, we could see the St. Paul’s Cathedral, the Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, the eye of London, the National Gallery, Trafalgar Square etc. After the tour, teachers let us free time to go shopping in Oxford Street. After almost three quarters of an hour buying things, we met all together and went back to the bus that took us back to Icknield Community College. And so, that was the end of a great day in London.

Después de que habíamos pasado el fin de semana con nuestras familias británicas, el lunes teníamos el viaje a Londres con nuestros corresponsales. A las nueve de la mañana todos estábamos ya preparados para tomar el autobús que nos llevó a Londres. Después de más o menos dos horas de viaje que llegamos a la ciudad y la primera visita que hicimos fue al Museo de historia natural, ahí los profesores nos dejaron tiempo libre para ver el Museo, para hacer fotos y comprar en la tienda. Luego caminamos al centro para tomar el autobús turístico, que nos llevó a través del centro de Londres para ver y disfrutar de todos los monumentos importantes de la ciudad. En más o menos dos horas y media de tour y mientras comíamos, pudimos ver la Catedral de San Pablo, el Big Ben, el Parlamento, el ojo de Londres, la “National Gallery”, “Trafalgar Square”, etc. Tras la visita, los profesores nos dejaron tiempo libre para comprar en Oxford Street. Después de casi tres cuartos de hora comprando cosas, nos reunimos todos juntos y volvimos al autobús que nos llevó a Icknield Community College. Y así terminó un gran día en Londres.

SUNDAY 22^ND: WITH ENGLISH FAMILIES

When I woke up in the morning,we had the breakfast,it was cereals and a glass of orange juice,then we got prepared and at lunch time we went to a restaurant, the food was amazing.In the afternoon we returned to the village and meet with hew,Álvaro,Charlotte,Leire,Summer,Marta,India,Paula,and my partner Ben.We all went to the park and we had such a great time there,I did skateboarding,it was my first time,so I fell off a few times,but it was funny.Then at nine o’clock we came back to home and had dinner.It was a wonderful day.

Nada más despertarnos,nos tomamos el desayuno,que era cereale s y un vaso de zumo de naranja, después nos preparamos y a la hora de comer nos fuimos a un restaurante, la comida era estupenda. Por la tarde volvimos al pueblo y quedamos con Matthew, Álvaro, Charlotte, Leire, Summer, Marta, India, Paula, y mi compañero Ben. Después todos fuimos al parque y pasamos un rato divertido,yo estuve patinado, y como era mi primera vez me caí unas cuantas veces,pero fue divertido. A las 9 volvimos a casa y cenamos. Fue un día estupendo.

The day before we went to bed late so the next day we woke up late too, we had a typical UK breakfast,with fried eggs,bacon,sausages…it was delicious…

Then Ryan and me met Jake and Manuel at Jake’s house and we went to the shop to buy some drinks and some sweets,then we went to the park and play some football,at the rest we ate the sweets and we finished,we went to Jake’s house to play a new game for Platstation 3, it  was awesome.At half past six Ryan and me returned to home and have the typical britishdinner,roastedbeef,It was great.Then we watched a movie and went to bed.

El día anterior nos fuimos a la cama tarde, así que al día siguiente también nos levantamos tarde, desayunamos un desayuno típico del Reino Unido, huevos fritos, panceta, salchichas…estaba delicioso.

Después Ryan y yo quedamos con Jake y Manuel en casa de Jake y fuimos a la tienda a por algunas bebidas y gominolas, más tarde fuimos al parque a jugar un poco al fútbol, en el descanso nos comimos las gominolas y al terminar fuimos a casa de Jake a jugar a un juego nuevo para la Playstation 3, fue increíble. A las seis y media Ryan y yo volvimos a casa para cenar algo típico inglés, “RoastedBeef”,estaba genial. Después vimos una película y nos fuimos a la cama.

SATURDAY 21^ST: TRIP TO OXFORD WITH ENGLISH FAMILIES

Saturday 21st September, in the morning we went to Oxford. When we arrived we went to visit the OXFORD CASTLE UNLOCKED. In the castle we were watching the different parts and a guide told us something about its history. After visiting the castle we went to have lunch to a shopping center. Then we went in bus to Reading, a city where we were shopping. In the night we came back to the R.A.F, where we lived, and we had dinner. When we finished we hung out with all the Spanish and English students who lived in the area.

El sábado 21 de septiembre, por la mañana  fuimos a Oxford. Cuando llegamos fuimos a visitar el OXFORD CASTLE UNLOCKED. En el castillo estuvimos observando las diferentes partes y nos contaron un poco de su historia. Después de visitar el castillo fuimos a comer a un centro comercial. Tras haber comido fuimos en autobús hasta Reading, una ciudad donde estuvimos de compras. Por la noche volvimos a cenar a la R.A.F donde vivíamos y al acabar fuimos a dar una vuelta con todos los que vivían  en la base.

THURSDAY 19^TH: ARRIVAL TO ICKNIELD COMMUNITY COLLEGE

We arrived at our highschool at nine o´clock, then we went to the airport, in Bilbao. We were waiting there about two hours, later we were flying another two hours and we arrived to England.We caught our suitcases and we took a bus, we were going to the Icknield Community College, where we met our exchange partners, finally everybody went with their families.

Llegamos al instituto a las nueve, después fuimos al aeropuerto, en Bilbao. Estuvimos esperando unas dos horas, luego volamos otras dos horas y llegamos a Inglaterra. Recogimos nuestras maletas y cogimos un autobús, estábamos yendo al Icknield Community College, donde conocimos a nuestros compañeros de intercambio, finalmente todo el mundo fue con sus familias.

FRIDAY 20^TH: ICKNIELD COMMUNITY COLLEGE

We met each other at the High School. First we had Spanish class together, later some of us had a Drama lesson, there we were playing some games. Then we had a break.We came back to class and we had French and Food tech, after that we had lunch, finally we had  PE.

We returned to our houses and that evening we were all together playing basketball.

Nosotros quedamos en el instituto, primero tuvimos clase de español todos juntos, a continuación, algunos de nosotros tuvimos clase de drama, allí jugamos a algunos juegos, después tuvimos descanso. Luego volvimos a las clases y tuvimos francés y clase de cocina, después de eso comimos y al final de todo tuvimos gimnasia. Luego volvimos a nuestras casas y esa tarde estuvimos todos jugando a baloncesto.

¡ VAMOS A BAILAR ……….. PASODOBLE !

El pasodoble es un baile nacido en España y uno de los más apreciados en todo el mundo.

         Es una danza intensa y sensual, que surgió como música de acompañamiento para las corridas de toros. La mujer representa el capote con el que el torero desafías orgulloso y valientemente al toro en la arena. Los movimientos enérgicos y las figuras de este baile evocan el momento más dramático y espectacular de la corrida, cuando el torero y el toro improvisan una danza, que es al mismo tiempo de amor y de odio.

         Generalmente se toca en 2/4 (en compás de dos tiempos) y las parejas lo bailan girando por la pista de baile en sentido anti horario.

HISTORIA DEL PASODOBLE

         El pasodoble es, incluso antes que un baile, una “marcha”, es decir, una composición musical destinada al paso de la tropa (pasodoble militar) o de un cortejo (pasodoble torero). Aunque el pasodoble es una obra eminentemente musical, muchos de los pasodobles más famosos son cantados. Otros originalmente eran sólo una composición musical y con el tiempo se les ha añadido una letra.

         Si bien el pasodoble es una modalidad no flamenca, pero si aflamencada de la marcha, su influencia es igual de notable en todas las tierras de España, así como en América Latina.

         Desde su aparición, el pasodoble ha sido por derecho propio un clásico de los llamados “bailes de salón”. Durante cuarenta años (de los años veinte a los cincuenta) puede ubicarse su reinado en España. Con el paso del tiempo fue perdiendo terreno, sobre todo, cuando empezaron a llegar otros ritmos destinados a los jóvenes. Peor a pesar de ello, el pasodoble nunca ha desaparecido del repertorio de las orquestas que tocan en los entoldados de las Ferias Mayores de todos los pueblos de España.

EL PASODOBLE ASOCIADO A LA FIESTA TAURINA

         El pasodoble taurino suena en las corridas de toros cuando la cuadrilla realiza el llamado “paseíllo” para presentarse al público asistente al principio del espectáculo.

         Todas las plazas suelen tener su propia banda encargada de ejecutar esos pasodobles y otras piezas para amenizar la fiesta en los momentos de solemnidad o aquellos en los que el público reconoce que el diestro está llevando a cabo una buena faena. Así, si el espectáculo no tiene el brillo que se esperaba, la orquesta debe permanecer en silencio.

         Por otro lado, por el tipo de melodía que sugiere, ha sido usado con frecuencia en la llamada canción española o lo que sería más exacto, en la copla andaluza, aunque en modo alguno constituye parte de ella. Muchos pasodobles relatan los amores apasionados y las tardes de gloria de apuestos y valientes toreros. Muchas de las llamadas “tonadilleras” de renombre internacional han popularizado el pasodoble-canción, ya sea con le tema taurino o patriótico.

         El pasodoble, por estar asociado a la fiesta nacional, no puede escapar del tópico y es el ritmo por el que más se reconoce en el extranjero a nuestro país.

LAS GANADORAS DEL CONCURSO DE HISTORIA VIAJARÁN ESTA SEMANA A ITALIA

 Maria Hernández y Ana Garrido son las afortunadas alumnas de 3º de Eso que viajaran esta semana a Montecompatri, Italia. Esta localidad, hermanada con Calahorra, recibe cada año a los 8 ganadores (dos por centro escolar) del concurso promovido por la Asociación Procal. Los trabajos versan sobre temas relacionados con la Historia de la Antigüedad Clásica y el pasado curso se decicó al tema "el uso del agua". Ana y María presentaron dos magníficos trabajos, que recibieron por partte del jurado compuesto por los miembros del departamento de Geografía e Historiala la calificación más alta.
Enhorabuena a las dos ganadoras.
Deseamos que la experiencia sea enriquecedora para ambas.

MARÍA GÓMEZ PRIMER PREMIO DEL CONCURSO DE EDUCACIÓN PARA EL CONSUMO

María Gómez, profesora de Biología del Valle del Cidacos ha sido galardonada con el Primer Premio en la categoría de Educación Secundaria en el Concurso de la Consejería de Salud de Educación para el Consumo. El Consejero de salud y Servicios Sociales, José Ignacio Nieto, hizo entrega de los premios. El objetivo de los premios es crear actitudes responsables en los consumidores, que éstos sean conscientes de su fuerza en el mercado y de sus responsabilidades, además de conseguir que los escolares riojanos lleguen a ser críticos, solidarios y sensatos en el consumo.

Su trabajo, "Hecho en ninguna parte" que ha obtenido el primer premio y ha sido dotado de 1.500 euros, consistía en un test inicial en el que los alumnos analizaban y reflexionaban sobre su consumo de ropa y zapatillas, la cantidad de prendas que tienen en su armario que no se ponen y que incluso nunca han estrenado, lo que hacen con ellas cuando ya no las quieren y finalmente preguntarse dónde se hacen y quién y como se consigue que a veces sean tan baratas. En la segunda parte se leyó un texto acerca de la fabricación de prendas de ropa y calzado en Bangladesh, las empresas que lo promueven y la situación de sus trabajadores. después se les hicieron preguntas acerca de lo leído y se hizo un pequeño debate acerca de sus opiniones, de lo que ellos podían hacer como individuos y lo que todos podríamos hacer como sociedad para frenar esta explotación laboral por parte de las grandes marcas internacionales. la actividad se desarrolló en la clase de tutoría con un grupo de 1º ESO

Búho Africano o Búho Manchado (Bubo africanus). 

Este ejemplar participó en la 4ª entrega de la película de Harry Potter. Luis Lezana se lo compró al inglés propietario. Es una especie de búho de tamaño mediano, una de las menores de los Grandes Búhos reales. Alcanza unos 45 cm de media y pesa entre 480-850 g. El búho manchado es natural de Oriente Medio y África. Las parejas instalan sus nidos en árboles, rocas o incluso en el suelo o en las cornisas Pueden vivir hasta diez años en estado salvaje y hasta veinte en cautividad. Cazan en espacios abiertos fundamentalmente roedores y presas de mediano y pequeño tamaño.
