The day they arrived, we prepared a lunch at school where they could taste the Spanish food for the first time. We were all waiting for them very nervous. Then we took them home to meet our families. In the evening we went out to show them Calahorra and after that each of us went home to spend time with our German friend and our family.

In the morning they visited some historical monuments like the cathedral and the museum. They also visited the Town Hall. After that they stayed in class with us for two hours and when the lessons finished we went home. In the evening we went out so they could meet and be together.

We had normal lessons but they had a trip to Logroño. They visited the centre of Logroño, the monastery of Yuso and a wine cellar called Marqués del Riscal. When they returned to Calahorra we picked them up and took them home.

That day we went all together to Senda Viva, a natural park with fun rides and animals. It was very cold but we had a really good time. We saw the animals, a show of prey birds and we had some exciting rides. In the evening we came back to Calahorra and went home to rest.

In the morning each Spanish student stayed with his/her family and correspondant, and in the evening most of us went out with our friends and German students. At night we all had dinner in a restaurant. After having dinner we were talking with the Germans and taking photos. Later we took them to dance in a pub.

On that day most of the Spanish people took their German mates somewhere in La Rioja or near it. One of the most visited places was Enciso, where a lot of students of the exchange met there.

The German students went to Zaragoza for the whole day. In the morning they visited the cathedral, the Aljaferia and the Pilar Basílica, and after having lunch they had some free time to go shopping. When they arrived to Calahorra we went home for them to pack up their things and to rest for the long trip they would have the next day.
It was the saddest day. We brought them to school where the bus was waiting to take them to the airport of Bilbao because they had to fly back to Germany . Between hugs and tears we had to say goodbye to all of them. It was a pity.
Although they are there, we keep in touch with them and we’ll see them again on the last week of March when we go to their homes.
We are looking forward to going to Germany and staying with them again.
